MGD was hired by Philly Friendship Circle to design the materials for their 2016 benefit: “Start a Friendship Revolution”.

A Brief Background
The Friendship Circle connects teens and young adults to youth with special needs and their families. The organization offers a full range of Jewish and social experiences including creative arts group activities, Jewish holiday celebrations, and weekly playdates. These mutually rewarding relationships foster the advancement of a caring, supportive community.

Theme and Design Idea
We collaborated with event planner Sheri Resnik, whose excitement and clear creative vision laid the groundwork for our graphic approach. When we first saw her Pinterest mood board full of colorful, artistic expressions, we knew a highly chromatic approach was in order, with abstract representations of happiness and positive energy. The materials needed to visually convey a fun social movement in the name of friendship.

We decided to use hand-drawn swirl shapes and floral elements in a colorful illustration style, coupled with dramatic black and white photography.

Here is a sampling of benefit materials below:

• Revolution signs to be held at the event (above)
• The save the date postcard
• Slides for a presentation entitled “The Friendship Revolutionaries Handbook”
• Solicitation package
• Retractable banners
• The invitation

Get inspired to start a friendship revolution! It’s happening on April 3, 2016 at The Hilton Hotel in Philadelphia. To learn more, go to the Philly Friendship Circle website.
