PROMOTING ART AND CULTURE

FringeArts | Philadelphia, PA

FringeArts presents world-class, contemporary performing arts that challenge convention and inspire new ways of thinking.

Background

In 2013, the organization was taking a bold leap and transitioning from the presenter of an annual city-wide festival to a year-round arts destination. This re-emergence would be staged along the Delaware River, in a repurposed pumping station turned state-of-the-art theater, restaurant, and beer garden. As they prepared for their next “high-pressure” performance run, a daring and distinctive new identity was needed.

Concept

Formerly known as “The Philadelphia Live Arts Festival and Philly Fringe,” the new name embodies a unique genre of art—FringeArts. It’s paired with a wordmark that symbolizes creativity in formation. Characters move in and out of the line up, their transitory state underscoring the boundless and innovative nature of FringeArts. The foundation of the visual identity relies on a single conceptual throughline: defying expectation.

“This is experiential art that traverses the full spectrum of human emotion.”

Nick Stuccio, Founder of FringeArts
