Building Bridges
We were thrilled when Eisenhower Fellowships approached us to create a book inspired by the “This I Believe” series. They collected 34 essays from Eisenhower Fellows who live across the globe including three local fellows, Lucinda Duncalfe, Jane Golden and Sister Mary Scullion, who have made a profound difference in our world. The foreword was written by General Colin L. Powell, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Eisenhower Fellowships.
The project evolved from a paperback publication with a 1-color, text-only interior to a full color, case-bound book with gold foil stamping, showcasing murals from the Mural Arts Program. The creative brief identified the need for a final product that felt elevated, special and substantial—not run-of-the-mill. We loved the challenge!
The design features radiant gold lines that reference bridges throughout the book — inspired by the title, “Building Bridges One Leader at A Time”.
This project demanded a lot of coordination with local printers, including a quality-check site visit at the bindery in Lancaster, PA (see production shots below!).
Many thanks to Great Atlantic Graphics and Bindery Associates for the excellent work.
